A view often caught by aviation buffs who flock to this remote area of California's Death Valley to grab pictures of some of their favorite aircraft weaving their way through the landscape.  The tight canyon turns, banks and drops are reminescent of the X-Wing fighters dropping into the "canyon" on the Death Star in Star Wars in the final race to destory it. Star Wars fans will appreciate the title as an homage to the universe they've come to love.

Rainbow Canyon (nicknamed Star Wars Canyon and Jedi Transition) is a canyon inside Death Valley National Park in Inyo County, California, on the park's western border. It is about 130 miles (210 km) west of Las Vegas and 160 miles (260 km) north of Los Angeles.
